email from "daddy and son" first day

Mao,

I just chatted with my friends in the lab about my first day experience with my son alone. All I told them is: it's been great!

I think Ethan understands more and more as he's growing up. Taking him to the airport had really helped him to learn the fact that he won't be able to see mom for some days. He normally asks for mom every time I take him home from school. But yesterday he only pointed to your car and said: that's mom's car. Then he repeated to himself... mom's gone with airplane...

He had a very happy and also messy time with his dinner. I made him some zucchini mixed with honey ham. He ate a lot and kept asking for more. Other than dumping the milk on his high chair table, I'll say he behaved above average in front of the dinner table last night. Then, the normal drill started, reading him book, playing with him with the toys, taking him to shower, but, no TV. He didn't ask for it either...

It was pretty hot last night upstairs. I had to turn on the AC for sometime before the dinner to cool it down. The AC was still running by his bed time so you can imagine the temperature. It was close to 8:40 when we came to upstairs and he's already tired. No much book reading there, I could tell he's falling asleep with him teddy in his arm. I started to hear his snore around 9PM. About 1 hour later, I went upstairs shutdown the AC.

He slept all the way to 7:30AM this morning. I woke up couple of time in the mid-night to check on him on the monitor since I was not able to hear anything there. ;) According to the survivor's guide, I made the breakfast ready about 7:40AM and get him dressed afterwords. He had lots cake and honey ham but he didn't drink all of his oatmeal. Oh, I forgot to stick the smiley face with him. So I guess we'll do it tonight.

The teach wrote me a letter asking to have him to wear tennis shoes. She said he had a hard time with the Cros as barks kept going into them. So, he went to school with another pair shoes this morning.

I hope everything has been doing well with you over in BJ. I know you must be missing us a lot but you don't need to worry about anything. We are having a great time, of cause with the guidance from the survivor's guide.
